About this object
Judy Cassab was best known for her insightful portraits and her subjects included family and friends, royals, and fellow artists including this portrait of Marion Borgelt. Borgelt is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores the timelessness of the circle, crescent, spiral and grid shapes.

Cassab exhibited 41 works in the Archibald Prize over a period of 46 years, and in 1967 she was the first woman to have won the Archibald Prize twice.
