This portrait of Dr Sasha Grishin was donated to Maitland Regional Art Gallery by the artist in 2005. Alexander (Sasha) Grishin AM, FAHA, is an Emeritus Professor at the Australian National University and works internationally as an art historian, art critic and curator. He has written more than twenty-five books including a book about the artist, Andrew Sibley; 'Art on the fringe of being', 1993.
