About this object
Les Darcy was an Australian boxer, whose career spanned from 1910 to 1917. He was born near Maitland in 1895, and his amazing career record and boxing prowess earned him the nickname ‘The Maitland Wonder’. MRAG has a vast Les Darcy collection, celebrating and preserving the memory of the young boxing legend.

Pat Bradley was an Irish born American welterweight boxer who once held the welterweight world boxing champion title. His career spanned from 1909 to 1920. Although Bradley did fight some middleweight boxers, like Eddie McGooty and Jeff Smith, he never fought Darcy. However, he is considered one of the boxing greats during Darcy's time, thus his inclusion in MRAG's Les Darcy collection.
