About this object
This work featured in the 1969 Transfield prize exhibition at Bonython Gallery Sydney. The title [for this work] was taken from a cartoon strip, BC - a predecessor of today's Wizard of Id strip - which featured a lightning bolt drawn as a jagged line accompanied by the word ZANG! When hung in its correct orientation the work reminded me of this graphic zig-zag formation.(George Barker)
