About this object
This work, by artist-printmaker Tony Ameneiro, is part of a larger series of drawings and prints based on one view - the underside of a cow skull. The skulls used in the series were found in a field next to the artist’s home in Mittagong, and he describes them as “a type of ‘slate’ for exploring ideas, techniques, thoughts and personal references”. Of Small - Night Skull, he says: “through drilling and engraving, the bovine skull takes on the look of a night sky”.
