About this object
Guadalupe is one of the places most closely associated with Lionel Lindsay's Spanish etchings. The monastary of Guadalupe "shows the town's raison detre, to service this Spanish symbol of clerical power. Lindsay would stay during his visits to the town, 'on the little turret at the left and had a good time with the brothers'".

Mendelssohn, J. The Art of Lionel Lindsay, Vol II, Etchings, 1987, p. 123.
