About this object
This seven metre long book was created by Wendy Sharpe while immersed in rehearsals, performances and green rooms of Australia’s contemporary circus troupe Circus Oz as artist in residence in 2016.
"I have always loved the famous (humans only) Circus Oz. There is unrelenting energy, live music. irreverence, satire and of course the incredible artistry of the performers. The shows have a mixture of crazy humour, surrealism and poetry." - Wendy Sharpe
Wendy Sharpe has been a finalist in the Archibald prize seven times, winning the prize in 1996 with her self portrait, 'Self-portrait as Diana of Erskineville'. In 2021 she was the subject for Dagmar Cyrulla's finalist entry, on dispay at MRAG in 2022 in the 2021 Archibald Prize Touring exhibition.
