About this object
Drew Connor Holland works with softly-coloured imagery printed on cotton paper that he makes himself from old clothes, sketchbooks and discarded artworks.
His subject matter draws on feelings of dysphoria towards place, queerness and history. Holland’s work creates a material dialogue between digital and physical archives. Influenced by appropriated cultural nostalgias, his work exists as an archaeological representation of shared virtual space. Using recurring motifs on washed-out, barely there backgrounds his work evokes the current instability of western culture.
